Located in the center of historic Lafayette Park in Washington, DC, the bronze and marble monument of General Andrew Jackson commemorates his service to the United States during the War of 1812. Designed and cast by noted sculptor Clark Mills, the monument was dedicated in January 1853.

Kreilick Conservation, LLC, was the Materials Conservator hired to conserve the Monument. Highlights included condition assessment; archival research to determine the historically accurate design of missing spurs and stirrups; bronze casting of replicated spurs and stirrups; installation of spurs, stirrups, and throat- latch; cleaning, repatination, and wax coating of the bronze sculpture; and the implementation of marble cleaning, pointing, and Dutchman repairs.
